What looks like a canning jar filled with real fireflies is actually a solar-powered LED light. Simply leave the jar in a window during the day and at dusk watch the "fireflies" magically appear and twinkle. When we first received them this spring we sold out in a day. Second shipment (much bigger) in a week. The manufacturer was completely sold out. So we begged and pleaded and by the grace of the lightning bug gods and our trusty UPS driver a big box just arrived filled with these treasures. Like your fondest childhood memories of capturing the little beasts in a mayo jar, only much more humane (and effortless). Charming doesn't even begin to describe them!
