Homestyle Welcomes My Mez - A Table That is Truly a Work of Art

Mez is the Indian word for Table.  These lovely, handcrafted tables are made of birch wood and then customized with a photo taken by the artist in his travels through India and New England.  The table's coating gives it an attractive finish and durability.  What's more, your Mez can also convert to artwork, without any tools, simply by unscrewing and storing the table legs behind the top.  You will find two saw teeth on the back of the top allowing you to hang the entire piece as photographic art when not in use.

Would you like a Mez with your own photo?  Provide us with a special image of anything from a wedding to a newborn baby to a favorite vacation spot and have it turned into a completely personalized and functional table!

Glorious Image of Iconic Waterfire by Providence Photographer Kate Salvi

When Kate Salvi shared this image with me several days ago I immediately asked her to bring in a framed print for us, do not pass go, do not collect $200!  The lovely Kate was quite accommodating and we now have this special, limited edition image in 8x10, framed and hanging right over our main desk.  And at UNDER $200 you won't have to pass go first either before you collect it!

Artist John Choly has been delighting us for years with his depictions of the moon, the heart and abstract landscape.  We are lucky to share his work with you everyday...BUT...on Saturday we can share the ARTIST with you as he joins Homestyle for the Providence Art Festival on Westminster Street!  In addition to the pieces already hanging on Homestyle's walls, John will bring a delicious assortment of smaller framed and unframed pieces, mugs, t shirts, magnets and hand-painted greeting cards, all available for purchase at Homestyle!

Roomy, Colorful and Style-Conscious Totes...Just Add Water!

The vibrant color and whimsical graphics are just two of the things you will LOVE about these totes.  They are roomy yet light weight.  The interior is treated to make them water resistant, they have an inside pocket for your wallet and cell phone and the handles are just the right length to carry by hand or sling over your shoulder.  The toughest part...choosing which one you like best!

An Innovative and Handsome Storage System You Build to Suit!

Originally designed to be a wine bottle rack, this stackable system is the perfect solution for so many storage challenges.  Each "unit" consists of four pieces which can be stacked, placed side-by-side on a countertop or added to existing units to create a tower.  The design allows for entire walls to be honeycombed, inviting you to erect anything from low dividers to complete floor-to-ceiling partitions.  Like pigeon-holes, the regular openings can also house decorative or practical items such as textiles, advertising leaflets, newspapers and, of course, wine bottles.  Simple and handsome, it is the perfect setup for anywhere!

Refreshing Good-for-you Soap for Salty Dogs, Mermaids and Beach Lovers...

Mineral  rich salts naturally obtained from sea water are used in the bath because of their tonic action and softening effect on the skin.  Swedish Dream Sea Salt Soap will give you an invigorating and refreshing shower or lather up for a skin-healthy shave.  Enjoy the scent of a day on the water -- salty and clean in a simple crisp soap.

Warm and Furry Greetings from Providence!

On almost a daily basis customers come in and ask "what do you have that says 'Providence'?".  Now this is a difficult thing because Rhode Island, and by extension Providence, is such a small place. Most manufacturers don't see the value in producing items that boast our area because there isn't enough volume to make it a profitable venture.  So we took matters into our own hands and LOOK!!  A big basket of these cuddly little guys has just arrived at HOMESTYLE and they need homes...we suspect it won't take long!

Sunday is Mother's Day...

Whether you are looking for something silly to put a smile on her face or a little gem of a letter pressed masterpiece suitable for framing, time is running out to select just the right card for the moms in your life.  As a mom myself take my word for it, it's worth the effort...we really do appreciate it!

Asparagus. Esophagus. And then...

A FISH named GUS!!  It's official.  Meet Gus, the most handsome little Betta ever!  Congratulations to Nick Avery for the name.  Nick is the winner of a Fishhotel just like the one Gus lives in!

With over 50 entries to our NAME THAT FISH contest there were some extraordinary suggestions and we have decided to award a second prize to Tara Celeste for her suggestion of Sushi.  We loved the name but just couldn't do it...who would want to eat this sweet little guy?  Tara wins a $25 gift certificate to HomeStyle!

Other great suggestions included Go Fish, Wanda, Westminster, Sancho Pansa, Betta Homes and Gardens and Bob.  There were so many great choices but in the end, when we look at him we see our little man Gus.
